Oven Baked Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 3 potatoes
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 3 green peppers
  • Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp pepper paste
  • 1.5 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 bowl of hot water
  • 500 gr ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp pepper paste (for the meat)
  • 1 onion
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • Description

  • For the meatball mixture, blend the onion, garlic, and egg together and place them in a bowl.
  • Add all the other meatball ingredients into the bowl and knead well.
  • Once the mixture reaches the right consistency, let it rest for about two minutes.
  • In the meantime, peel the potatoes and slice them into half-moon shapes.
  • Mix the potatoes with vegetable oil and 1 teaspoon of pepper paste. Arrange them in a greased baking tray by alternating one meatball and one potato slice.
  • Place the sliced green peppers and tomatoes on top of the meatballs and potatoes.
  • In a bowl, mix 1.5 tablespoons of tomato paste with hot water until it reaches a smooth consistency, then pour it over the dish.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C until the potatoes are soft and cooked through. Serve.
