Green Beans in Olive Oil

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup of olive oil
  • 2 medium onions, finely diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 kilogram of fresh green beans
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 level tablespoon of granulated sugar
  • Salt
  • 3 medium tomatoes
  • Description

  • Place your pot on the stove and heat the olive oil.
  • Add the onions and sauté until they soften.
  • Once the onions are soft, add the garlic and fresh green beans and stir.
  • Add the water, sugar, and salt, then cover the pot.
  • Cook over medium heat until it boils, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30–45 minutes.
  • About 5 minutes before you're ready to take the beans off the stove, add the tomatoes and then remove from the heat.
  • Let it sit and rest.
